Working on Dying Producer Tag: "I'm working on dying"

Where the tag comes from

Working on Dying is a production collective founded around F1lthy, Oogie Mane and others, credited with shaping the 'tread' and rage sound. The Cornell Daily Sun lists 'I'm working on dying' as the crew's tag, heard on The Khan and Lil Tracy's 'Vices'. The name comes from a member who, after his father's death, thought 'I'm really working on dying right now'. F1lthy explains it as being alive and 'working on dying'.

How to make a tag that sounds like this

Detached, deadpan spoken line over distorted, crushed 808s, eerie and low-energy rather than hype.

You can't use Working on Dying's tag, but you can get the same energy with your own name. In the tag studio we've set the Dark voice and Screwed style to get close. Play it, tweak the reverb, echo and pitch, then type your name. For a DIY version, read how to make a producer tag.
